From Data Analytics to Artificial Intelligence

Description:

As data generation has increased rapidly, statistical knowledge and machine learning have become critical assets in any career, business, or academic program.

In this 4 day workshop, we will break down popular and complex methods in artificial intelligence into simple concepts using a variety of hands-on exercises. We will first lay the foundation by covering the basics of data analytics and summary statistics.

Using a selected dataset, we will build a classifier using logistic regression, and then work our way up to building models using random forests and neural networks. At each step, we will walk through the R code used and teach you how to interpret the generated output.

During the last day, we will have successful Data Scientists from various fields speaking to you about their careers and the academic paths that led them to where they are now.

Dates: April 28, April 29, May 5, and May 6

Location: Downtown Toronto

Data Science in Genomics and Drug Discovery

Description:

Rapid advancements in DNA sequencing technologies over the past decade have introduced a vast amount of genomic data. Scientists around the world are analyzing these data to gain insights into the genetic architecture of complex diseases. As the cost of data generation is decreasing, personalized medicine is becoming more accessible and the demand for talent in data science is growing.

In this 4 day workshop, you will have the chance to work with DNA sequencing data and learn about the computational and machine learning methods used in analyzing such data. You will gain an understanding of how this information is used in disease diagnosis, drug discovery, and ultimately improving patients' health.

Dates: Feb 3,4,10,11 2018

Location: Downtown Toronto

Upcoming Workshops: to be announced (contact us if you are interested in attending)
